Let's Talk About Cuba!
Cuba is known as a tourist attraction for many people who just want a nice getaway. However, Cuba has a deep, rich, and intriguing history about many things that people did not know about the tropical island.
Cuba isn't all food, music, and good vibes. Just like anywhere else, it comes from somewhere and it has a history that should be studied just like anyone else's.
Before Cuba got to where it is now as one of the most popular places to go for a nice and relaxing vacation, it was once a small island country that was home to slaves, sugar, and lots of racism.

There are so many unknown people who are not acknowledged in Cuban history, such as Evaristo Estenoz who did nothing but form a political party in order to help Afro-Cubans get the rights that they deserved. He did nothing wrong by it, but the government hated the idea of Black people being treated as equal so much to the point where they lied about Estenoz' goal in order to get people to turn against him.
Then, there's people that we have heard of, such as Fidel Castro. Castro was always looked at as if he was a villain solely because many privileged Cubans felt like he was ruining the country by integrating it and giving Afro-Cubans the same opportunities as white Cubans, when it's the opposite.
Castro wanted everyone to be treated as if they are equal, because, well, we are. Despite him doing this for a positive reason, it was still looked at as negative. Crazy, right?
The history of Cuba is unique and it is one that I wish I knew more of before doing this assignment.
